MHAC SCHOOL NAGBANI : TREKKING EXPEDITION

Dharamshala –Chamunda- Mcleodganj- Bhagsu- Dharamkot trekking expedition was organized by Tawi Trekking expedition was organized by Tawi Trekkers from 10 june 2025 -2019 june 2025 for classes VI-XII during the summer vacations .A total of 340 students,180 girls and 160 boys went on this trek in 8 groups. 16 teachers accompanied the students along with Tawi Trekkers Team J& K.

The expedition was a unique learning experience outside the classroom with a blend of education, exploration, adventure and spirituality. It was a privilege to accompany enthusiastic students under the able guidance of Tawi Trekkers J&k expertise.

Day-1

Trek began with the ribbon cutting by the worthy Principal, MHAC Nagbani, Ms. Sonia N.Anand and Tawi Trekker’s Team at Kala Kendra jammu on 10 june 2025 around 7:30 am. Trek was held in two groups at a time for 3 nights 4 days. There were refreshing halts on the way to lakhanpur lunch was served at Chambi. A visit to Norbulinka Institute gave insights to Tibetan art and culture .Awe-inspiring murals, serene gardens at the monastery were a visual treat. Students stayed in safe home stays in chamaunda base. Evening tea and refreshment unites and refueled the trekkers and the day culminated with a reverent visit to chamunda Devi Temple for blessings.

Day- 2 was dedicated for exploring Mc Leodganj’s charm. After the hearty breakfast the students visited Dalai Lama Monastery. It was soothing and spiritual experience to sit and visualize the religious practices in front of a huge Buddha Idol. The students were given the liberty to shop and explore Tibetan artifacts, clothes, food the bustling local markets. Lunch was served in the premises of St. John church in the wilderness tucked among deodars. The next destination was HP Cricket Stadium with panoramic snow- capped mountains. The day culminated with group activities, tea and dinner.

Day 3 with renewed energy, day -3 Trekking adventure began in the natural trails towards Bhagsu waterfall followed by scenic soft trek to Dharamkot through pine forests post lunch students captured countless memories via photos. Students were seen challenging their stamina and bonded with each other. Dharamkot- ‘Mini Israel’ was a delight with cozy cafes, artistic shops. Students were given an opportunity to explore the place and finally descended to chamunda base.

Day 4 The final and 4th day begab with Tea Estate visit. Students observed full tea production cycle and took notes. Tea estate spread in acres gave a serene view. Every body offered prayers at Nagini Devi Temple enroute and lunch was served. Students enjoyed the journey in deluxe bus and juice and snacks were served at chichi mata Temple shops .Journey concluded by evening and all reached Jammu by 7 pm.

Students made life long memories, participated actively with commendable responsibility . Students ,staff, school renders heart felt gratitude to Tawi Trekkers for their flawless coordination and towards Principal Ma’am for her vision and encouragement that made this enriching journey possible .Students will remain forever grateful for this once in a life time experience during school days.
