Two-Day Capacity Building Programme on Faculty Development Organised under the Aegis of DAVCAE
MHAC School Nagbani successfully organised a Two-Day Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on Faculty Development on 3rd and 4th August 2026 under the aegis of the DAV Centre for Academic Excellence (DAVCAE). The programme aimed at strengthening teachers' professional competencies and enriching classroom practices through innovative pedagogical approaches and experiential learning.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the distinguished resource persons along with the Principal, symbolising the pursuit of knowledge and excellence in education.
The first technical session was conducted by Ms. Arvita Kour, Resource Person, on the theme "Planning to Performance." She enlightened the participants on the significance of meticulous lesson planning, effective classroom implementation, and outcome-based teaching strategies. The session inspired teachers to transform their planning into meaningful classroom performance for improved student learning outcomes.
The second session was led by Ms. Archna Bhatt, Resource Person, who presented an insightful session on the "Teacher's Toolkit." She introduced participants to innovative teaching methodologies, assessment practices, classroom management strategies, and digital resources that can make teaching more interactive, engaging, and learner-centred.
The third session was conducted by Ms. Sween Puri, former Principal, Manager of several DAV Schools, and the Resource Person for the day. She delivered an enriching session on Life Skills. Sha also gave specialised session Effective Communication Skills for English language teachers, highlighting the importance of clear expression, classroom interaction, confidence-building, and language proficiency in creating an effective learning environment.
Simultaneously, Ms. Sween Puri conducted a specialised session for Kindergarten and Classes I & II teachers on "How Play Pedagogy Helps Us Achieve Developmental Milestones." Through interactive demonstrations and practical activities, she explained how play-based learning fosters creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and the holistic development of young learners while strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy.
Mr. T. K. Ganjoo, Manager of the School, also graced the occasion with his presence and appreciated the initiative undertaken by the school under the guidance of DAVCAE.
The second day of the programme commenced with an inspiring session by Ms. Sween Puri on Time Management. She emphasised the importance of effective time management, self-discipline, emotional intelligence, and life skills in enhancing both personal and professional effectiveness.
Resource Person also guided teachers on establishing a E-Resource Centre for uploading competency Based Questions Subject wise /Class wise for the school to facilitate collaborative learning, creativity, and the effective utilisation of teaching-learning materials. Under their guidance, the participating teachers enthusiastically designed and developed a model Resource Centre, showcasing a variety of innovative teaching aids and educational resources prepared during the workshop.
The two-day Capacity Building Programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from all faculty members, who actively engaged in discussions, collaborative activities, hands-on learning experiences, and reflective practices. The workshop proved to be highly enriching and reinforced the school's commitment to continuous professional development and excellence in education through quality teacher training initiatives.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Principal Ms. Sonia Anand, who expressed her sincere gratitude to the esteemed resource persons Ms. Arvita Kour, Ms. Archna Bhatt, Ms. Sween Puri & Mr. T. K. Ganjoo, Manager of the School, and all the participants for their enthusiastic involvement and valuable contributions.
