(1ST SEPT’ 18 TO 15TH SEPT’ 18)

A fifteen day Swachhata drive was initiated by the management, staff and the students of MHAC School, Nagbani. A cleanliness pledge was administered by the principal Ms Sween Puri, the administrative staff, the students and all the teachers for the upkeep of the personal hygiene and community sanitation on the very first day i.e, on the 1st September 18.

Each class took up the responsibility to perform one activity every day. The teachers were made to inspect sanitary facilities in every corner of the school.

An extensive cleanliness drive was a part of the programme where in the cleaning of class rooms, toilets, campus surroundings was carried out. Students took initiative in cleanliness drive and enthusiastically took part in cleaning the school area from 2nd to 4th September 18.

On the 5th September 18 blue and green dustbins for the recycled and the uncycled waste materials were provided and the importance of both types of dustbins was explained to the students.

Numerous trees were planted in and around the school premises. Children were encouraged to take care of the plants and initiate to curve the green house effect.

On the 7th September 18 a demonstration of proper methods of hand wash before and after the meals was performed during assembly. Proper cutting of nails and importance of neat and clean nails was explained to the students. Students were also made aware of oral and personal hygiene. Skits and poems were recited almost all the days during morning assembly.

From 9th September 18 to 14th September 18 proper usage of toilets, and disposal of waste water, safe drinking water and awareness on water borne diseases was conducted.

Paintings, cartoons and slogans on cleanliness were displayed in school premises.

Swachhata Pakhwada was a great success which ensured maximum participation from all stake holders of the school.
